“Who in the world am I?” Ah, that’s the great puzzle"- Alice

This quotation is made by Alice in Chapter II of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alice realizes that she is not just trying to figure out Wonderland, but also attempting to determine who she is and what constitutes her identity in a world that actively challenges her sense of self. Alice finally realizes that her perspective of the world has to change, as wonderland reflects Alice thoughts and psyche, she has to take into account that wonderland isn't the issue but is herself that is on question. Here we have the most important question in philosophy Who am I?. After this Wonderland becomes a quest to understand the forces and feelings that comprise her identity. Wonderland is what makes Alice understand that she is growing and that she has to overcome childhood in order to start adulthood. We all grow, there's no doubt about it, but it is how we grow that defines ourselves, it is the way we overcome childhood that gives everyone of us a different meaning; it defines us, it projects us and mostly it seals us. So whoever thought that Alice in Wonderland is just a child's book, I think that a second consideration should take place, Carrol made a masterpiece explaining the transition between two phases and the psychological changes that it implies.
